Author Turns Writing Passion Into Exciting New Venture

Author utilizes internet to find and publish new writers. Diane Dorce' found one of her bestselling authors on her blog, along with many others. Blogging has went from something personal to something profitable.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 17, 2007 -- Author Diane Dorce' is no stranger to writing. She has in fact been penning stories, plays and novels since the early 90's. Lately, she has turned her love of everything literary into her brand new publishing company, Firefly Publishing & Entertainment.

"I started out wanted to give voice to some very talented authors I knew and also learn as much about the business as I could. What derived from that was a strong desire to continue, and thus I formed Firefly, and today I have four titles being released, with an additional two before the end of the year."

Diane set up shop in her house, reads all queries, edits, formats and ships books to stores, libraries, consumers and with the help of Baker and Taylor she has been able to get her authors' books in some of the major outlets like Barnes and Noble and Borders. Author Saadia Ali Aschemann may be one of the best known and most successful authors to date with her debut release, lavish lines/luscious lies. Saadia and Diane met on an internet blog, where Diane first read some of Saadia's poetry and offered to publish her. Since Saadia's release, she has sold hundreds of books, been interviewed by both print and television media and her popularity continues to grow.

"Saadia's poetry is unlike any other I've read and I am so glad she visited my blog and I visited hers. Our meeting was destined for sure, because I couldn't ask for a better author."

Diane met local author Jean Holloway two years ago, when both attended the much talked about National Book Club Conference in Atlanta. Two years ago they formed a union that would lead them to both becoming published authors, and Jean Holloway's debut release, Ace of Hearts being published by Firefly Publishing & Entertainment. It has been a dream come true for both as Ace of Hearts continues to climb the sales chart.

Although she loves the publishing business, Diane is not through with writing yet. Her third novel, 52 Broad Street is due to be released in early November. She continues to pen two other novels for release in 2008.

"I love what I'm doing and I am truly sincere about helping other authors. When I started out I needed that kind of help and I had people reach down and give me a hand, whether it's sound advice, a critique or a shoulder to lean on. It is very difficult these days with the saturation of books coming out to standout, but I have found some lovely gems in this vast land of writers and I will continue to promote and publish them as long as I financially can. Just call me the Spike Lee of Publishing," she says laughing. "No really ... if Spike can do it, and Robert Townsend, and even Tyler Perry, on faith, heart, nickels and dimes, then so will I. So will I!"
