Scottish Guitarist Matthew McAllister appearing with Albany's Spiral Ensemble

Matthew McAllister has been delighting audiences across Europe and beyond with his thoughtful performances and effortless presentation. From renaissance miniatures to contemporary masterpieces, Matthew's style encompasses it all.

Albany, New York (Billboard Publicity Wire/PRWEB ) October 14, 2007 -- Scottish classical guitar virtuoso Matthew McAllister is coming to Albany to perform with Albany guitarist William Simcoe and his Spiral Ensemble. The concert will be held on October 21, 2007, 3 p.m. at the Church of St. James, 391 Delaware Avenue, Albany, New York. Admission will be $15 for the general public, $10 for students and seniors, Matthew will be performing solo and with his flautist partner Aisling Agnew. William will be performing solo and in ensemble with flautist Elisabeth Williams and soprano Rosanne Hargrave.

Born in Falkirk and raised in the East Neuk of Fife, Matthew studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama with Allan Neave. Matthew has toured with the Scottish Ballet, performed at the 5th & 7th Simon Bolivar Guitar Festivals held at the Venezuelan Embassy in London, recorded for the BBC Artists Index and appeared on BBC and Spanish Television. He has headlined the Southwell International Festival and appeared at the Classical Guitar Camp (Malaysia), Ordu International Guitar Festival (Turkey), Dundee International Guitar Festival (Scotland) and Metu International Guitar Festival (Turkey) and has toured Ireland, Scotland, England and Denmark with his duos: Maelasta and the Agnew / McAllister Duo. Albany guitarist William Simcoe has collaborated with guitarists from around the world. Over the last few years William has performed with Argentine guitarist Jose Luis Merlin, French guitarist Thibault Cauvin, Brazilian guitarist Marcos Vinicius, Canadian guitarist Isabelle Heroux and British guitarist Adam Khan. William performs solo, with flautist Elisabeth Williams as Spiral Tango, and with soprano Rosanne Hargrave and a variety of affiliated artists as Spiral Ensemble.
