LogiGear To Double Size of Vietnam Software Testing Center - Fully Integrated US-Vietnam Operation Continues Rapid Growth

The first and only US-led software testing center in Vietnam, the LogiGear Test & Research Center has now doubled its capacity and will employ 500 test and software engineers and other personnel by the end of 2008.

LogiGear Corporation today announced the acquisition of additional facilities in Vietnam to support rapid growth of the LogiGear Test & Research Center, doubling the capacity of the company's operations there. The first and only US-led software testing center in Vietnam, LTRC will employ 500 test and software engineers and other personnel by the end of 2008, with more growth planned for the future.

LogiGear's fully integrated US and Vietnamese operations offer the speed and cost-savings benefits of software test automation combined with globally distributed teams, delivering on the vision outlined by LogiGear cofounders Hung Q. Nguyen, CEO, and Michael Hackett, VP, in their most recent book, Global Software Test Automation: A Discussion of Software Testing for Executives.

The company recently produced a white paper describing the reasons for selecting Vietnam and LogiGear's business approach to developing the center, The Business Case for Outsourcing Software Testing to Vietnam. The white paper evaluates Vietnam against a framework of cost, workforce, stability, government policies, English language proficiency and overall fit with company strategy. The paper then describes LogiGear's experience in Vietnam to-date.

"Looking at the results detailed in this white paper," said Nguyen, "it becomes clear that Vietnam is an offshore outsourcing destination worthy of strong consideration for software testing and development."

LogiGear's US operations are also expanding in synergy with the new resources in Vietnam, supported by continuous training programs led by US-based LogiGear University instructors. LogiGear's US project managers, automation engineers, test leads and other staff work closely with a highly skilled Vietnamese team including a technology group with advanced software test automation expertise.

"US companies must look at offshore resources as more than a cheap labor pool," Nguyen declared. "Vietnam provides us with a very low-cost and technically savvy staff, yes, but to obtain the best results, you must invest in offshore resources by training them so that you can achieve the optimal synergy between labor costs, technological expertise, and proficiency with your methodology and supporting tools. Only by achieving these synergies will a company be able to have the most successful offshore outsourcing experience."

"Our goal is to make the offshore software testing process as seamless as possible for our customers," Nguyen affirmed. "Based on feedback from our existing customers, we have been tremendously successful in this initiative."
