New Social Media Application Tracks Movie, Television, Music, and Celebrity Buzz

BallHype Inc. announces the public launch of ShowHype, a new entertainment-focused social media application. Like BallHype, ShowHype analyzes content from thousands of blogs and presents the most popular stories and videos for users to vote on and discuss.

ShowHype makes it easier to keep up with the latest news in entertainment by providing a filter for quality and relevance. The ShowHype content engine analyzes posts from top entertainment blogs, and finds the stories and videos that are cited most frequently, whether on blogs or mainstream media web sites. At launch, ShowHype covers movie news, music reviews, TV recaps, celebrity gossip and more. Books, theater, and other categories will be added in the near future.

Fans who are passionate about a specific actor, artist, show, or celebrity can customize the home page to include stories about their favorite stars, their own story submissions, their friends' comments, and more. Users who share the same interests can join ShowHype Groups to meet like-minded fans and share information.

For bloggers, links from ShowHype stories provide visibility and drive engaged readers to their best content. Because ShowHype's content engine is already tracking and analyzing their posts, submitting stories for consideration is extremely easy. ShowHype's database of all published posts is a comprehensive resource for bloggers looking for new story ideas or just interested in what's being talked about. And, with ShowHype's social features, writers can interact with other fans to build up the readership for their own blogs.

The launch of ShowHype follows the successful April 2007 launch of BallHype, a sports-focused social media application and community. Since launch, BallHype has changed the way thousands of fans experience sports news and community. BallHype's traffic has grown by an average of 50 percent per month since launch, thanks to strong participation by sports bloggers and the rest of the user base.
