New Hampshire Dentist Named Hi Tech Guru by Dental Practice Report

CEREC and CAD/CAM dentistry are on the rise and here to stay. CEREC is one of the most advanced technologies in the dental arena and given the cost, most likely to be found in the big cities. Surprisingly, it's a small town dentist who's leading the charge for this hi-tech dentistry.

Gorham, NH (PRWEB) October 18, 2007 -- Dr. Paul Schoenbeck bought his first CEREC tooth restoration unit for his Gorham New Hampshire practice six years ago. Today he's the high tech guru featured cover story in Dental Practice Report magazine (July 2007).

Schoenbeck is a leading proponent for and a recognized pioneer and educator in the use of CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) CAD/CAM technology. Sought by the magazine as an authority on its use, Dental Practice Report asked Dr. Schoenbeck to update its 75,000 strong readership 'on the evolving technology and (to) provide a first-hand account' of CEREC's practical implications in the field of dentistry. "I didn't know I was going to be the cover story. I was just happy to help spread the word on CEREC and CAD/CAM dentistry," Schoenbeck said candidly.

Only about 7.5% of all the general dentists in the U.S. have a CEREC CAD/CAM in their offices. Thirty-five units are available in New Hampshire, divided among more than 800 dentists. Schoenbeck's office has two of those thirty-five units. He believes strongly in bringing the benefits of advanced technology and education to both patients and professionals. Schoenbeck frequently lectures on CEREC around the country to dental school students, faculty, and to members of several dental societies. He has been invited guest speaker at several dental conferences, including the prestigious Yankee Dental Congress, the largest dental conference in New England and fifth largest in the United States.

Dr. Schoenbeck's combination of skill, enthusiasm, dedication and humor has built a thriving practice, using technology and information you'd more likely expect in the big city than in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It's his visionary dedication to '"being high tech and getting all the latest materials and apparatus"' that makes this doctor such a requested lecturer and respected professional. "I was totally amazed (that) a remote area was so greatly equipped," said one North Country Dental patient. Schoenbeck's forward vision and generous nature are reflected in his staff, a fact noted by one patients who went on record to say, "They are the most professional, caring group of individuals that I have ever encountered."

Three years ago, Schoenbeck organized a meeting for the purpose of continuing education for regional dentists. It is now an annual event sponsored by dental manufacturers and suppliers. "The world of dentistry is constantly growing and changing," Schoenbeck said. "CEREC is one of the most advanced technologies in the dental arena, one that really benefits patients. I saw a need to share these advances and other technical dental information at a local level to keep the communities' dental care providers competitive and up to date."

The Third Annual White Mountains Dental Conference will be held October 19-20, at Loon Mountain Resort, Loon New Hampshire. The conference this year is "Business and Technology of Today" and will include guest speakers on the various technical and practical aspects of running a dental practice, from high-tech applications to effective marketing and advertising.
