Popular Pain Management Resource Now Available

Third edition of comprehensive pain manual released.

Newton, MA (PRWEB) October 18, 2007 -- Inflexxion Inc. and PainEdu.org are pleased to announce the release of the highly anticipated third edition of the PainEdu.org Manual: A Pocket Guide to Pain Management. The new edition of this popular resource for teaching and clinical practice has 50% more content including a comprehensive index as well as 25 tables and 3 drug appendices. The manual provides an overview of pain epidemiology, pathophysiology, types of pain, assessment, measurement tools, diagnostic testing, and treatment.

"The PainEDU.org Manual, 3rd Edition is important because as a companion to the website, www.PainEDU.org, it is a handy print reference, as well as a living document that keeps the non-expert clinician up to date on important, current, and practical issues in pain management," says co-author Kevin L. Zacharoff, MD, FACPE, FACIP, FAAP.

Future updates of the PainEDU.org Manual will be available to registered PainEDU.org users including other publications in our Opioid Risk Management Library such as the PainEDU.org Supplement: Patient Level Opioid Risk Management, a practical resource for clinicians starting patients on opioid therapy. Universities, teaching hospitals, and Veteran's Administration facilities are among the many that have already placed orders.

"The PainEDU.org Manual is the best treatise on the subject of pain… it is clearly written and both concise and comprehensive... I have used it with medical and physician assistant students," says Bertram Kummel, M.D.

The PainEDU.org Manual is a valuable resource for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists and other clinicians as it covers a wide variety of topics on the management of acute and chronic pain for a multidisciplinary audience. The PainEDU.org Manual is free and can be obtained by visiting www.painedu.org and becoming a registered user. For your convenience the manual can either be downloaded or mailed per request. For more information, visit http://www.painedu.org/manual.asp or contact painedu(at)inflexxion.com.
