Executive Chef Joshua Humphrey will create a tasteful menu while Master Distiller Chris Morris brings award-winning bourbons to pair with each course.

On Thursday, November 1, 2007, Sam & Harry's Restaurant in Schaumburg, Illinois will proudly host the Woodford Reserve Bourbon Dinner to celebrate excellent cuisine paired with exceptional bourbons. Executive Chef Joshua Humphrey will create a tasteful menu while Master Distiller Chris Morris brings award-winning bourbons to pair with each course.

Expertly crafted bourbon has become the trendy choice of savvy bar and restaurant goers who appreciate its bold nose and sweet finish. The five-course dinner at this Schaumburg, IL luxury hotel, with accompanying bourbons, will begin at 6 p.m. and executive Chef Joshua Humphrey will co-host with Woodford Reserve master distiller Chris Morris. Both will be available to discuss with guests how to successfully pair bourbon and food. The cost is $95 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

Woodford Reserve bourbon, part of Brown-Forman Corp., is made and bottled in Versailles, Ky. It is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including a gold medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition and a double gold medal for best bourbon at the World Spirits Competition. Chris Morris began his career with Brown-Forman in 1976, working under the company's current master distiller at that time. He worked at Glenmore Distilleries Company and United Distillers before returning to Brown-Forman in 1997. He is the only American to be named "Keeper of the Quaich" by the Scotch Whiskey Association.

The menu that Chef Humphrey created for the Woodford Reserve Bourbon Dinner highlights his culinary talents, as well as showcases the versatility of excellent bourbon to marry with a variety of dishes. The dinner begins with a reception of passed hors d' oeuvres and then five courses, each perfectly paired with award-winning bourbons and whiskeys:

Chef Humphrey is an honor graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, S.C. Under his culinary leadership, Sam & Harry's was listed as one of Chicago Magazine's 2006 Best New Restaurants. Chef Humphrey was also recently named to the roster of top 20 new chefs in Chicago by the Chefs in America organization.
