Invensys SimSci-Esscor Demonstrates New Simulation And Modeling Tools For Boosting Refinery Output

The SimSci-Esscor (http://www.simsci-esscor.com) unit of Invensys Process Systems recently demonstrated its comprehensive simulation and modeling solutions for refinery assets. In addition to its complete line of plant modeling and optimization, operator training, and process simulation suites, Invensys also highlighted its two latest offerings to the oil & gas industry. One, the SimSci-Esscor SIM4ME Portal, enables personnel to build and access powerful plant simulations via a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, without programming. The other new product, the SimSci-Esscor Material Balance Module of ARPM, converts error prone process data to consistent, reliable flow-sheets.

The SimSci-Esscor (http://www.simsci-esscor.com) unit of Invensys Process Systems demonstrated its comprehensive simulation and modeling solutions for refinery assets at the National Petroleum & Refiners Association Q&A and Technology Forum, held recently in Austin. In addition to its complete line of plant modeling and optimization, operator training, and process simulation suites, Invensys also highlighted its two latest offerings to the oil & gas industry. One, the SimSci-Esscor SIM4ME Portal, enables personnel to build and access powerful plant simulations via a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, without programming. The other new product, the SimSci-Esscor Material Balance Module of ARPM, converts error prone process data to consistent, reliable flow-sheets.

In addition to demonstrating its new software solutions, SimSci-Esscor personnel participated also in the following other show-related activities:

  • Idemitsu presented a session on SimSci-Esscor's ROMeo solution for "Closed-Loop Real-Time Optimization of a Refinery Energy System with No Operational Intervention"
  • Shell Canada described its experience with SimSci-Esscor's Material Balance Module of ARPM in a show daily feature entitled: "Refinery-Wide Data Reconciliation: Operation Decision Support"
  • SimSci-Esscor experts participated in Q&A sessions heavy oil characterization, general refinery optimization, and demonstrated products for process engineering, dynamic simulation, online performance, optimization, and database management.
