New Online Video Series from Celtx Explores New Approaches to Screenwriting and Media Production

Motion Sketches – Perspectives on Production is a new online video series now available from Celtx. The series examines screenwriting and cinematic production and the revolutions new technology brings to it.

St. John’s, Canada (PRWEB) October 22, 2007 -- A new online video series exploring media creation in the digital age is now available from Celtx. According to the series, cinematic screenwriting and production is being revolutionized by new technology, and it is time for media makers to rethink old and limiting frameworks of conventional media creation. Two five-minute episodes, produced by Bad Dad Productions of Australia for Celtx, have just been released.

The series, Motion Sketches – Perspectives on Production, examines traditional, segmented approaches to screenwriting and cinematic creation and uses Celtx integrated media pre-production software to demonstrate alternative, holistic approaches.

Episode 1: So This Is Cinema turns conventional linear, hierarchical and segmented cinematic production on its ear, describing instead how better media can be created through an integrated approach involving informed media makers.

Episode 2: There’s No Such Thing As Good Writing makes the case that while cinematic writing might begin with a screenplay, it certainly doesn’t end there.

Future episodes in the online video series will continue to present a range of perspectives on developing a media project from concept to production, covering topics such as: writing sound design; writing machinima, gaming and motion graphics sequences; pre-production for multi-resolution and multi-platform projects; collaboration and project management; and the nuts and bolts of building effective cinematic drama in any moving image medium.

Motion Sketches can be viewed at celtx.com, celtx.blip.tv, youtube/motionsketches, and baddadproductions.net.
