ActiveXperts Software Released SMS and Pager Toolkit 4.1

ActiveXperts Software released version 4.1 of its SMS and Pager Toolkit software component. This toolkit enables sending and receving of ascii- and binary SMS messages through GSM, SMPP, HTTP-Post and TAP/UCP.

For low-volume SMS messaging, SMS and Pager Toolkit offers TAP/UCP objects. Just connect a Hayes compatible AT modem to your PC, and let SMS and Pager Toolkit connect to an SMSC provider to deliver SMS messages.

For medium-volume SMS messaging, SMS and Pager Toolkit offers GSM objects. Connect a GSM/GPRS modem to your PC (SIM card is required in the GSM/GPRS modem's SIM slot) and send/receive SMS messages at a speed of 12 messages per minute. ActiveXperts recommands Falccom SAMBA 75 modems and WaveCom 1306B GSM/GPRS modems. As an alternative for medium-volume SMS messaging, one can use the HTTP-Post protocol.

For high-volume SMS messaging, SMS and Pager Toolkit offers SMPP objects. Use an internet connection (or VPN) to connect to an SMPP-compliant provider. Send and receive at a speed of 20 messages per second.

New in version 4.1 are: It is now possible to send WAP Push messages and WAP Bookmarks. These WAP messages are only supported for GSM Modems (and GSM Phones) and SMPP. As a result, SMS and Pager Toolkit now includes two new objects: WapPush and WapBookmark.

Another new feature in version 4.1 is the support for HTTP-Post. With the simple HTTP-POST interface you can send SMS messages directly from your business applications or websites in minutes. All you need is a subscription with a commercial HTTP-POST compliant SMS provider, and an internet connection.

There are new samples included to demonstrate how to use the product. These samples work out-of-the-box. There are new samples included for: Visual Basic .NET, Visual CSharp .NET, Visual Studio ASP .NET, Borland C++ Builder, Borland Delphi, Coldfusion, PHP and HTML.
