ActiveXperts Software Released ActiveComport Version 3.0

ActiveXperts Software released version 3.0 of its ActiveComport Serial Port Toolkit software component. It now supports high-speed ASCII- and data transfer, and includes new samples for Visual Basic .NET, Visual C# .NET and ASP .NET.

ActiveComport is an ActiveX component to provide an easy-to-use scripting interface for serial, asynchronous communications through a serial port. ActiveComport can be used to control Hayes modems, ISDN modems, USB serial devices, weight indicators, printers, scanners and other devices and machines that have a serial interface.

New in version 3.0: support for high-speed ASCII- and data transfer. You can now communicate at full COM port speed as a result of the new SendBytes and ReceiveBytes functions. These functions take a stream of bytes and send it to a remote device.

Another new feature in 3.0 is: advanced logging. ActiveComport now adds logging capabilities to the toolkit, to allow advanced troubleshooting.
Version 3.0 now allows Windows Telephone Devices. You can directly open a Windows Telephony (TAPI) device and send/receive data.

There are new samples included to demonstrate how to use the product. These samples work out-of-the-box. There are new samples included for: Visual Basic .NET, Visual CSharp .NET, Visual Studio ASP .NET, Borland C++ Builder, Borland Delphi, Coldfusion, PHP and HTML. The product can be downloaded from the site. This is a full functioning product; it expires after 30 days but can be (re)activated after purchasing the software.
