TCI Group's Jerry Petzoldt Receives TechStar Champion Award

Northeast Tennessee Technology Council confers Champion Award for outstanding service to the region.

Kingsport, TN (PRWEB) October 28, 2007 -- TCI Group president Jerry Petzoldt has been named the 2007 TechStar Champion by the Northeast Tennessee Technology Council (NE/TTC) for his contribution to regional development and service to the technological community.

The TechStar Champion Award is not presented every year, but is reserved for those special individuals who have excelled as 'champions' for the Tech Council, its mission and its values. The award recognizes those who work in concert with the council to promote the vision of regional growth, prosperity and pride.

"Jerry has been a tremendous supporter of the Northeast Tennessee Technology Council financially, physically, and spiritually," said NE/TTC executive director Debbie L. Boggs. "It's difficult to measure the positive impact that Jerry has had on the well-being of the entire region. He's the perfect recipient of this award."

The Northeast Tennessee Technology Council is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to educate, engage and support a region of technology-based businesses and entrepreneurs that will enhance the region's economy and technological infrastructure. Mr. Petzoldt previously served on the organization's board as treasurer, and remains an active supporter of the group and its goals.

This award is a great honor for me," says TCI president Jerry Petzoldt. "I'm proud of the work we do in promoting the community and all it has to offer, but at the same time, to receive this type of recognition from your peers is truly humbling."

TCI (Tri-Cities Commercial/Industrial) was co-founded in 1996 by Jerry Petzoldt and Charles Lowry, Sr. and has offices in Kingsport, Johnson City and Bristol. The company's services go beyond those of many traditional commercial real estate companies, by helping clients develop business strategies and plan projects to maximize long-term rewards. The agency offers the services of 22 commercial real estate specialists, managing hundreds of commercial and industrial properties throughout the region.
