Winners Announced in 2007 QSR/FPI Foodservice Packaging Awards

Citrine New World Bistro, a restaurant concept located in Redwood, California, impressed judges with its "Dash & Dine" packaging and took home the prestigious Foodservice Package of the Year award in the 2007 QSR/FPI Foodservice Packaging Awards, sponsored by QSR magazine and the Foodservice Packaging Institute.

Durham, NC (PRWEB) October 31, 2007 -- Citrine New World Bistro, a restaurant concept located in Redwood, California, impressed judges with its "Dash & Dine" packaging and took home the prestigious Foodservice Package of the Year award in the 2007 QSR/FPI Foodservice Packaging Awards, sponsored by QSR magazine and the Foodservice Packaging Institute.

Citrine's exceptional packaging, which includes an ingenious seatbelt flap to keep food secure for the drive home, was deemed the "best of the best" from among all entries in seven categories. The line of packaging was also selected for first place in the "Brand Delivery" category in the competition. In selecting the Citrine New World Bistro family of packaging, judges gave Citrine a near-perfect score, saying that the distinctive graphic design carried across all of the restaurant's packaging was "superior to anything else in the marketplace."

This was the fifth year QSR and FPI teamed up to sponsor the competition, which honors restaurant brands, manufacturers, and designers for their efforts in producing top-notch packaging.

"Packaging is an element of foodservice that often doesn't receive its due," said Greg Sanders, associate publisher of QSR magazine. "But let's face it -- without packaging, the restaurant industry as we know it today wouldn't exist."

The competition named first-, second-, and third-place winners, plus honorable mentions, in seven categories, including Consumer Convenience in Food Packaging, Consumer Convenience in Beverage Packaging, Graphic Design Distinction, Brand Delivery, Children's Meals, The Wow! Factor, and Product Manufacturing Innovation.

The full list of winners and honorable mentions is available at www.QSRmagazine.com. In addition to Citrine's top showing in the Brand Delivery category, first-place winners included:
