Scala, the leading provider of end-to-end solutions for the digital signage market, today announced the success of its 2007 EMEA Partner Conference and 20th Anniversary Celebration.

This year and for the seventh year in a row, Scala hosted its annual EMEA Partner Conference on October 17th and October 18th in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

"The hard work of our Events Team produced a spectacular one of a kind conference uniquely dedicated to leadership in digital signage," said Oscar Elizaga, Vice President, Scala EMEA.
"Besides a great conference, the Scala 20th Anniversary Celebration was exceptional, as evidenced by the enthusiasm and participation of our guests. Certainly an event to be remembered for years to come," he added.

Some interesting facts about the conference this year:

  • Number of companies in attendance: 95
  • Number of partner and end-user attendees: 180
  • Scala employees representing 6 offices and 8 countries worldwide
  • Exhibitor Companies at the show: 16
  • Countries represented among all attendees: 35

(Belgium, Austria, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Croatia, Ukraine, Greece, Hungary, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Romania, India, Poland, Slovenia, Nigeria, South Africa, Japan, China, Israel, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Latvia, United Kingdom, France, Australia, Canada, United States)

One of Scala's special guests was Scala founder Jon Bøhmer. He established the company one day before his 20th birthday in 1987. "I am proud to see that 20 years later Scala is a world leading company. I am absolutely confident that we can expect even greater accomplishments of Scala in the next 20 years!"

The debut this year of the Scala Content Contest was a great success. During the conference all attendees were able to view the content submitted by the contestants and vote for the best among a selective group of nominees. With 32% of the votes, the winner was Seen Media in Germany, with content created for the NORDSEE Fischspezialitäten project. Seen Media was also recently recognized with the "Best Practice Award" during the Viscom event in Germany earlier this year on account of its Galeria Kaufhof project.

Also celebrated were the Scala Award Winners of 2007 in the following main categories:

  • IBM (Germany), represented by Christiane Viereck for the Most Scala InfoChannel 3 Players Deployed award.
  • Digifour Technologies (India), represented by Sherin Nazer and Anas Ahmed for the Most Scala InfoChannel 5 Players Deployed award.
  • ESY PROD (France), represented by Stéphane Sivori and Yann Laurencon for the Best Performing Newcomer award.
  • Specialized Software Services (UAE), represented by Ahmed El Ridi for the Most New Customers award.

"This conference could not have been a success without the exceptional work done by all contributing speakers and exhibitors, as well as by the participation of our partners and clients," said Truls Baklid, Vice President, Scala Nordic. "We are all very proud of this great outcome," he added.
