RosettaNet Worldwide Summit and Conference Highlights Future Opportunities Afforded by Standards-based Electronic Transactions

Chief Minister of Penang The Honorable Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, to address conference and summit participants.

Penang, Malaysia (Vocus/PRWEB ) October 29, 2007 -- The RosettaNet Community is combining its bi-annual Global Community Summit with the organization’s Global Partner Conference in Penang October 29 – 31 at the Equatorial Hotel in Penang, Malaysia. The education and networking event is being hosted by RosettaNet Malaysia and will bring together a global audience of established RosettaNet consortium members from more than 19 countries as well as prospective trading partners from the high technology, telecommunication, logistics, and other industry sectors.

As a user-driven, non-profit consortium, RosettaNet develops universal standards for the global supply chain, emphasizing bottom-line, measurable results. A recent survey on RosettaNet adoption and implementation, conducted in collaboration with Nanyang Technological University of Singapore shows that companies save an average of US$156,000 annually in their supply chain operations after implementing RosettaNet standards and processes. More details will be shared at the Conference.

The Summit and Conference features The Honorable Chief Minister of Penang Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon addressing the key role RosettaNet has played in driving Penang’s competitive spirit and business environment. In addition, attendees will hear speakers from leading companies that have widely adopted and implemented RosettaNet standards including: Nokia GbmH, Intel, IBM, British Telecom, Hewlett Packard, Fujitsu, Microsoft, B-Global, CrimsonLogic eTrade Services, e2OPEN, Microsoft, TM and WebMethods.

“Our member companies operate some of the most efficient supply chains in the high-tech industry. In fact, some have been cited to be leading best practices across all industries,” Herman Stiphout, RosettaNet President, said. “This is a tremendous opportunity to hear directly from these experts about RosettaNet and its contribution to business value creation in manufacturing, trading network management, and emerging industry issues.”

“It is our great pleasure to host this important conference in Penang, allowing us to highlight the importance of RosettaNet’s advanced eBusiness business-to-business standards to our fast growing market in Malaysia,” Foong Heng Huo, Director of RosettaNet Malaysia, said. “As more and more high technology, multinational companies move their manufacturing facilities to Malaysia, we think it is critical for RosettaNet to take a leadership role in helping to build a modern supply chain to bring local small and medium enterprises to the global economy.”

RosettaNet is part of GS1 US, a leading global organization dedicated to the implementation of global standards and solutions to improve the efficiency and visibility of supply and demand chains globally and across sectors.
