Adds new sites in new markets to broaden offering for advertisers.

BackBeat Media announced a dramatic expansion of its member sites with new publishers joining existing and new advertising networks. In the last quarter, BackBeat Media has added 25 new sites bringing its total membership to more than 40 sites and podcasts.

"We've been the largest Mac network for the past 7 years," said Dave Hamilton, president and co-founder of BackBeat Media. " And our strength has been our strategy of hand selecting well-branded sites. Our newest members have been similarly selected for their strong brands in other industries outside of our core."

The new sites include Footnoted.org, iPhone Alley and Blog Flux. Footnoted.org was recently recognized by Time Magazine in its Best of the Web issue as one of the top financial information sites. iPhone Alley was one of the first sites dedicated to the iPhone. Blog Flux is the premier source of bloggers tools and services.

BackBeat Media works with web publishers who have a strong brand or following within their respective markets. Rather than allowing any site to sign up for a broad topic channel, BackBeat Media works to to pair a strong corporate brand with a strong publisher brand.
