Over 3.2 Million Students Attend College in Their Underwear

Since 1996, http://www.overview.com has offered a free database of college information. Since then, it has been given awards for uniqueness and quality. OVERVIEW.COM offers a free database of information and links to hundreds of both campus-based and online colleges and schools, business schools, and vocational schools. Prospective students can search by state, zip code, type of degree, career, or individual course to find a perfect match, and then easily enroll.

Richardson, TX (PRWEB) October 31, 2007 -- In response to the increasing demand for courses and degrees offered by smaller local campus-based colleges and schools, as well as online colleges and schools, OVERVIEW.COM, has re-focused its website toward those prospective students.

According to research conducted by the Babson Survey Research Group in partnership with the College Board, nearly 3.2 million students were taking at least one online course during the fall 2005 term, a substantial increase over the 2.3 million reported the previous year.

The growing trend in online colleges began in the mid-1980s. Now its easy to enroll at a college over the Internet. Students can attend classes from their home, from their job, or while in another city, using only a computer and Internet connection.

Online classes are available anytime, anywhere, making it possible to study when and where convenient. For those who are shy or have English as a second language, online education can be a very effective way to learn. Students save huge amounts of time and money. There are no buildings or campus to drive to, no travel expenses, no time invested in commuting to class, no out-of-state fees, and no room and board fees. Some employers will help pay for courses that relate to the job.

OVERVIEW.COM can be especially useful to parents with teens about to graduate from high school, to those in their 20s and 30s wanting to increase their skills and salary through promotion or career changes, and to professionals wanting to get advanced degrees or take specialized courses while still working full time.

OVERVIEW.COM has hundreds of links to both campus-based and online colleges, business schools, and vocational schools. Visitors to the site can search by state, zip code, type of degree, career, or individual course to find a perfect match. Free information from a counselor and literature from the college or school is only a mouse click away. Enrolling is just as easy.
