Mentalist Angela Funovits Makes Her Debut on NBC's Phenomenon, Halloween Night

Former Miss Teen Cleveland has sights set on winning the TV competition.

(PRWEB) October 31, 2007 -- Famous mentalist Uri Geller and world-renowned magician Criss Angel are conducting a search for the next great mentalist on NBC's newest hit TV show Phenomenon. Angela Funovits, the only female competitor of the 10 chosen ones has one goal in mind and that is to win the title of the World's Greatest Mentalist."

Funovits has been performing illusions since age 10 and the former beauty queen, now 20 has become recognized as one of the top mentalists both in the United States and abroad. She uses her pageant titles to raise awareness on social issues, and her current platform is using magic to achieve holistic healing. Angela operates a program called The Magic of Medicine, which teaches magic to cancer patients and their families in an effort to address social and emotional issues.

Being part of Phenomenon is her big break.The exhilarating and mystifying live show is based on a successful Israeli version judged and monitored by Geller, which achieved a historical record-breaking viewing audience. The series showcases 10 carefully selected mentalists who will compete live against one another each week by demonstrating a wide spectrum of mystifying talents on a panel of celebrity guests who experience the spellbinding illusions along with the studio audience.

Funovits will be featured on Wednesday night's Halloween show which will air on NBC from 8-9pm EST. Currently, she is working as a medical student and has been offered the opportunity to perform in "The Pussycats of Magic" in Las Vegas, new show being put together by Las Vegas producers Michael Bloom and Paul Kozak.

Kozak, himself has been recognized this year as the Merlin Award winner as International Comedy Magician of the year for 2007. Bloom as one several awards for his TV production work, including an Emmy for the cutting edge documentary PlayCouples.
