Career management firms are not employment agencies. Their job is to guide their clients through a process of career improvement; which sometimes results in a promotion or a chance to do something on their own.

Larry Keim is a career industry professional and follows the hiring trends of executives, professionals and managers through career management/career counseling firms.
According to Keim, a sampling from career management firms shows that executive level placements in the third quarter of this year demonstrate a small increase over last year, about 4%.
Keim says that this is a good sign, as the trend for this year continues to demonstrate that executives are landing jobs at an increased rate over last year. Keim warns however, that these results only reflect the success of executives who have received professional assistance in their search, and may not reflect the results for all executives.
Larry Keim gathers reports from a sampling of career management organizations regarding the success rate of executives who have reported acceptance of a new career position or career decision, such as opening their own business, or moving up the corporate ladder where they currently work. "Career management firms are not employment agencies. Their job is to guide their clients through a process of career improvement; which sometimes results in a promotion or a chance to do something on their own."
According to Keim, the best news for now is that early results for October and the third quarter are showing a tremendous increase of positive career transition for executives over last year. "October is currently reflecting an increase of over 60% over last year. This is a significant increase over last year and a hopeful indicator that the fourth quarter will produce results far ahead of last year.
