The PacketTrap survey confirms there is a real need in the mid-market for an affordable and integrated view into a company's network and that the solutions we're building are the ones network engineers really want.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 31, 2007
PacketTrap Networks (http://www.PacketTrap.com)], a favored network management solution company, today announced the winners from its recent survey contest. On Oct. 17, 2007, PacketTrap published a survey asking the network management community to rank networking tools that provided the highest return on investment (ROI). There were five winners in the inaugural PacketTrap PT360 survey. Given the choice of an Apple iPhone, Apple Nano, or Nintendo Wii or a $250 Amazon gift certificate, one participant chose the Nano and the others won $250 Amazon gift certificates.
PacketTrap used the survey to research which technologies network engineers value most when managing their networks on a day-to-day basis. The results of the survey will help shape PacketTrap's technology roadmap for its network management solutions for organizations of 250-5000 nodes. Launching in November 2007, the PT360 integrates network management tools into a comprehensive, differentiated, centralized dashboard called PTiControl, which provides for dataflow, correlation, and integration between individual tool results. PTiControl displays the network's key performance indicators as well as the diagnostics of the network's performance and availability. The dashboard also integrates easily with common browser-based open source products.
The survey had two main objectives: to confirm which components of the beta "toolsuite" were the most appealing to network managers as measured by usefulness, frequency of use, and budgetary valuation, and to find out whether the IT administrator would find value in a network management dashboard.
"We believe our solution is the most automated, effective and economical next-generation network management solution on the market," said Steve Goodman, CEO of PacketTrap Networks. "The PacketTrap survey confirms there is a real need in the mid-market for an affordable and integrated view into a company's network and that the solutions we're building are the ones network engineers really want."
Patrick Irwin, PacketTrap's Director of Sales and Support, called the results "a very pleasant and humbling experience."
"The IT community spoke loud and clear. Their response to our integrated dashboard was overwhelmingly positive."
PacketTrap Networks provides affordable enterprise-class network management solutions including, the PT360 Toolsuite. The company's network management tools encompass a vast array of network management, network monitoring, network analytics and network diagnostics capabilities.
