Select 1 Transport Expands Michigan Operations

Move accommodates growth in automotive logistics and event marketing services.

Taylor, MI (PRWEB) November 3, 2007 -- Select 1 Transport, a global leader in specialized vehicle transportation, managed automotive logistics, and event marketing logistics announces the expansion of its depot facility in Taylor, MI. The expansion accommodates growth in its logistics division and the addition of an event marketing logistics group.

"Michigan is an important market for us, and we're committed to investing here," said Gary Carlson, President and CEO of Select 1 Transport. "With so much of the auto industry focused in Metro Detroit, this region is an essential element of our growth strategy."

The Michigan and California facilities are an important step for us. They represent our commitment to the customers in these areas
Select 1 Transport will also purchase six enclosed auto transport trailers and various other specialty trailers from a Michigan-based trailer manufacturer at a cost of more than $1,000,000. They have also purchased eight new over-the-road tractors from a Michigan-based dealer for more than $1,000,000.

These efforts are part of a larger expansion for Select 1 Transport. The company will open a Los Angeles, CA facility to serve customers like Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, and Kia. In 2008, it will contract with additional owner operators to expand its transport capacity.

"The Michigan and California facilities are an important step for us. They represent our commitment to the customers in these areas," Carlson said.

Select 1 Transport's event marketing logistics division was recently chosen by event marketer George P. Johnson to coordinate logistics for Toyota's Highway to the Future: Mobile Hybrid Experience tour promoting Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive vehicles. Select 1 Transport will handle all logistic aspects of this ride-and-drive campaign, including vehicle transport and display setup, at 150 stops nationwide over an 18-month period.

Select 1 Transport focuses on specialized vehicle transportation, managed automotive logistics, and event marketing logistics. Services include transporting delicate clay models, confidential prototypes, secure or sensitive vehicles, as well as double-expandable mobile marketing units for marketing campaigns. The Arizona-based company began operations in 1997, quickly expanding to become a single-source transportation and logistics solution utilized by the world's leading automakers, advertising agencies, and exhibit builders.
