Home-Staging Companies Help 'Sell that House'

FSBO website Fizber.com adds home staging directory to its services.

Miami Beach, Fl (PRWEB) November 5, 2007 -- Fizber.com, a for-sale-by-owner website, is expanding their services with the addition of network of trained Home Staging Consultants who work throughout the United States. The home staging network lists professional home stagers in all 50 states, which makes it easy to find a home staging consultant in your neighborhood.

Home staging, a method of presenting a home in its best light in order to appeal to the broadest audience base, has gained recognition through popular cable television programs such as "Designed to Sell" and "Sell This House." It can run the gamut from repainting walls to tearing them down, or from changing window treatments to replacing windows. It now offers many more varied services to the client, such as moving in and resettling, event staging, holiday decorating, de-cluttering and organizing and one-day re-design. Home staging has been known to boost home sales prices, as well as quicken the amount of time the home stays on the market.

"In today's market, I believe it is crucial to stage a home to obtain the highest price and quickest sale time for the seller," said Julia Foster, PR Manager for Fizber.com. "It will be the best decision made with selling one's home. Otherwise, one will risk his/her home sitting on the market and losing significant amounts of money due to lack of home staging expertise."

Getting references for stagers and checking those references is also essential. Foster advises home owners to interview staging candidates and to visit homes that they staged. "See if you like what you see," she suggests.

The main benefit of hiring a professional to stage your home is that they will look at your surroundings with an experienced and objective eye. They won't be attached to grandmother's antique table, nor will they have the same affinity you may have for that pink bathroom. They will be able to come in and tell you which items should be removed, what should be added and how best to feature your home.

"If one is in the market to sell their home, especially in a slow buyer's market, I highly recommend this individual to turn to a certified home stager," said Carol B., a Fizber.com customer. "After being on the market 6 months prior with no offers, I found a professional stager through Fizber.com. The best news was that we had multiple offers and the home sold in 34 days."

Whether it's a way to differentiate yourself in your marketplace or sales aid to give higher or faster offers, staging is a tool that all FSBOs should add to their bag of tricks.
