VSS Monitoring announces the release of secure remote management options for its Distributed Network Taps.

With this release, VSS becomes the only vendor offering traffic access solutions that allow for remote management via secure protocols.

Using the newly available protocols HTTPS, NTP or Syslog, end users can remotely (and securely) administrate VSS’ Gigabit Distributed Taps. These devices’ sophisticated management options include setting ports as inline or span, configuring I/O selections, and assigning auto-negotiation or forced-mode settings. Advanced control features include multi-user management, ‘interface lock-out’ which prevents non-secure communication, and SNMP traps, which alert end users to login attempts / failures and any configuration changes.
