Lonely Planet expands MyTripJournal service

Lonely Planet Publications and MyTripJournal Technologies announced today the expansion of MyTripJournal's custom-branded travel journaling service to customers and visitors at Lonely Planet's flagship website www.lonelyplanet.com.

Melbourne, Australia and Vancouver, Canada (PRWEB) November 4, 2007 -- Lonely Planet Publications and MyTripJournal Technologies announced today the expansion of MyTripJournal's custom-branded travel journaling service to customers and visitors at Lonely Planet's flagship website www.lonelyplanet.com. The service will be expanded at various levels within the Lonely Planet site.

Personal Travel Websites powered by MyTripJournal provide visitors to LonelyPlanet.com with a premium set of tools allowing them to easily document their travels through maps, photos, video and text, and to communicate with family and friends throughout their travels.    These features, along MyTripJournal's customized archiving service, have been valued by Lonely Planet customers since May 2004.

Through its Booking & Services Group, Lonely Planet recommends partners who offer services ideally suited to independent travellers, in a friendly, professional environment. Lonely Planet, the world's leading travel information group, was recently acquired by BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the British Broadcasting Corporation. In 2006, MyTripJournal was named by Forbes as one of the Best Travel Sites on the Web.

The custom branding of MyTripJournal products allows Lonely Planet to reach an ever-growing body of customers as travelers interact with friends, family and colleagues to whom the Lonely Planet name is introduced and reinforced.     The service also permits current and future travelers to browse quality trip journals of other travelers offering insight on their destinations and experiences worldwide.

"Having recommended MyTripJournal's service to Lonely Planet customers for over 3 years, we are delighted to expand our business relationship with this innovator of travel communications technology," said Mike McDermott, Bookings & Services Manager for Lonely Planet. "This service is a great way for travelers to share their adventures and to keep as a priceless memento for years to come. The trip journal content created by our many satisfied customers also allows others to benefit from the travel experiences and knowledge garnered by them."

"We are pleased with the strong demand for our service among independent travelers. MyTripJournal is committed to providing travelers with innovative solutions that combine state-of-art communication tools with its customizable IntelliMap System, all in a 'spam-free' environment", said Dan Parlow, co-founder of MyTripJournal.

MyTripJournal's Personal Travel Websites are available at http://mytripjournal.com and at quality partner sites such as Lonely Planet, GAP Adventures and the Good Sam Club.
