Apocket Bleu To Perform at one of Jersey's Favorite Hot Spots for Locals
New Jersey's hottest new band to be showcased at Drazil on Saturday, November 10.
(PRWEB) November 6, 2007 -- On Saturday November 10th, Apocket Bleu will perform from 9:30 until 11:30 PM at a favorite hot spot among locals, Drazil at 6666 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township. Drazil is the only organic restaurant in all of Atlantic County and is a favorite of locals for both its food and its support of local talent. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door and may be purchased in advance by calling (609) 926-3195.
Apocket Bleu is comprised of four young men including former Bleak City band mates Paul LoPresti (keys, vocals) and Alexander "Sandy" Eldred (bass, vocals), along with Ryan Schugar (guitar, drums and vocals), and Jon Zoerb (drums, vocals). They will rock the house with their original songs and some well-known covers. The band members draw from a variety of genres to craft a unique sound not heard from other bands their age. Hailing from the greater Atlantic City area, they have enjoyed rising success with their jazz and classical infused original rock tunes. They are highly talented and knowledgeable musicians with tremendous collective playing experience given their youth. The result is a sophisticated sound with rich instrumentals and unique sounding vocals.
Guitarist Ryan Schugar was recently in Austin, TX meeting with Willie Nelson. Nelson has a recently launched independent record label. In addition, the band has worked on an original score for an upcoming movie.
Bassist Sandy Eldred has just come off stage at the Inaugural Mid-Atlantic Blues and Music Festival in Atlantic City, held September 29th and 30th at Bernie Robbins Stadium. He shared the stage with children of Blues Legends such as Muddy Waters, Johnny Lee Hooker, Luther Allison, Johnny Clyde Copeland, Lonnie Brooks and more.
In addition, lead vocalist and keyboard player Paul LoPresti will appear as Jeff Merideth, the lead role (and appropriately- a pianist) in "The Curious Savage", at Mainland Regional high School in Linwood, November 15-18. This is Paul's fourth appearance in a Mainland Regional HS production in three years. Acting in local theater since the age of nine, Paul's theatrical background includes musical theater, opera and Shakespeare. He is passionate about musical theater, seeing it as a way to add to his tremendous diversity and stage experience.
Since their official launch this summer, the band's calendar continues to fill with opportunities which are sure to escalate. They have upcoming performances at Le Grand Fromage (Atlantic City), Cosmos Lounge in Glassboro, NJ, Grape Street in Philadelphia, and more.
