Itheon Networks Announces Free Educational Network Application Performance Seminar Series

A series of educational webinars to help attendees gain a greater understanding of how the WAN effects application performance with indepth Q&A with experts in this field.

Welwyn Garden City, UK and Reno, Nevada, USA (PRWEB) November 7, 2007 -- Itheon Networks, the Networked Application Performance Lifecycle™ specialists, today announced a series of educational webinars offering greater understanding of the issues that effect application performance across Wide Area and Wireless Networks.

The series of 1 hour educational webinars was piloted on the 9th October with the series proper starting in early November. It will be spread across the global timezones, covering Eastern Standard, Pacific and European time zones. The seminars detail how and why different networks (WAN, Wireless LAN, 3G, GPRS, Satellite, MPLS etc.) influence how well applications work.

From the pilot seminar, a delegate's view: ' I found it interesting and many of my team appreciated the educational overview of application performance across the WAN. I particularly enjoyed the Q and A at the end of the session where I was able to ask and have answered deeper questions on some of the issues discussed. I look forward to more in-depth webinar on this subject in the upcoming months.' Michael Blatt (Performance Testing Champion, SQS)

Itheon Networks stresses the educational content of these webinars. Frank Puranik, Product Director, said "With trends such as data centre consolidation, server virtualization and remote working, an increasing number of applications are expected to work over Wide Area, Wireless and Satellite networks. The objective for these webinars is to offer greater understanding and educate the industry on the issues that today effect their applications in these networks. We believe that by promoting an understanding of the implications of how network conditions impact any application that runs across the WAN, companies will be able to much better placed to tackle poor response times of current applications, manage data center consolidation and significantly reduce the problems associated with new application rollouts."

Using real life examples, the online seminars will explain ways in which organisations can ensure that software can be realistically tested during the prototype, development, QA and pre-deployment phases.

Frank goes on to say 'The network emulation industry has been very poor in educating and sharing information on application performance on the network. I feel that this is an area we can rectify due to our in-house expertise in deep and full testing of applications across the WAN.'

Details of the webinars and how to register can be found at www.itheon-networks.com/news/events.html
