New York, NY (PRWEB) November 8, 2007
Due to popular demand, Jill Newman Productions has added two shows to Sly & the Family Stone's New York visit. The First Family of Funk will take the stage at B. B. King Blues Club & Grill, 237 West 42nd Street, on Tuesday, November 20, at 8:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., in addition to performing in two sold-out shows at B. B. King's on Friday, December 7, at 8:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Sly & the Family Stone returns to the Big Apple for the first time in 32 years. In the late '60s, Sly fused R & B rhythms and a psychedelic sensibility into a new pop/soul/rock hybrid that drew a diverse audience from around the world. The Family Stone's music pre-dated disco and inspired the many Black self-contained bands that emerged in the '70s. Along with James Brown, the Family Stone virtually invented '70s funk, and their impact has proven lasting and widespread.
Tickets for the November 20th shows go on sale today, November 6, at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $86.00 and are available at the B. B. King Box Office or via http://www.ticketmaster.com and http://www.bbkingblues.com.
