StartupNation, a leading business advice and social networking site for entrepreneurs, named Lucky Stella as the sixth runner-up in a Top Ten "Wackiest," the first annual StartupNation Home-Based 100 ranking of the nation's top home-based businesses. The Home-Based 100 celebrates the innovative, nimble and resourceful home-based entrepreneurs who have gone largely unrecognized until now.

"Although large companies often grab the headlines, home-based businesses today are thriving," said Rich Sloan, entrepreneurial author, radio host and co-founder of StartupNation. "Millions of people are following their passions through entrepreneurship by pursuing innovative, sound business ideas." The StartupNation Home-Based 100, composed of ten Top Ten lists, presents a unique look at the nation's top home-based businesses. Category winners span a wide range of revenue levels, sectors, ages and other characteristics.

Stella Rubinshteyn, a part time accountant for a prominent New York City investment firm, and an avid entrepreneur, is not new to start-ups. This time, Stella decided to do something different -- create a lifestyle brand tied to luck and fortune, which is confronted by the traditional "evil eye". Personalized by Stella Rubinshteyn as the "lucky eye", the brand is representing a line of clothing, business and home accessories, and luck charms.

"I thought that all generations, young and old, could relate to this idea," believes Stella. "I based my designs on an ancient amulet (blue eyeballed bead) to protect from the evil eye. The original evil eye amulet is most popular in the Mediterranean regions such as Turkey, Greece, Italy, Egypt and Israel, and by way of tourism and immigrants in the United States. "I combined the patterns and tradition with the new designs in clothing and accessories, and wanted to share it with the fans."

Stella Rubinshteyn is a firm believer that our lives are shaped through our thoughts and intentions. Her belief in positive thoughts and affirmations inspired her to create a signature mantra "luck is on your side", which together with the watchful "lucky eye" is prominently displayed on the back of each shirt. It is meant to inspire, encourage and empower. Together with the trademarked 'lucky eye' and the "luck is on your side" message, the wearer is always reminded to trust their path and to believe in their strength and success. If they do, luck will be on their side!

Lucky Stella transformed the not-so-obvious into a fresh new idea with artful images that appeal even to the most discriminating clientele. With the recent interest in Kabbalah, evil eye amulets have become a highly sought after fashion item in Hollywood. The Lucky Eye collection has something for everyone. Now anyone can be "protected" in style.

About Lucky Stella: Lucky Stella is a line of Lucky Eye apparel inspired by the ancient evil eye amulet that is said to ward off "evil eyes" and attract success and fortune.
