MD-IT Adds Tenth Office with Maine Acquisition

MD-IT, a provider of medical transcription services and software for physician offices and ambulatory clinics, announced today that it has added its tenth regional office with the acquisition of Northeast Transcription Inc. (NTI) of Maine.

Boulder, CO (PRWEB) November 9, 2007 -- MD-IT, a provider of medical transcription services and software for physician offices and ambulatory clinics, announced today that it has added its tenth regional office with the acquisition of Northeast Transcription Inc. (NTI) of Maine. NTI's owners received a combination of cash and stock in the transaction. Ella Hudson, president of NTI, has joined MD IT's management team as managing director of the Portland office.

"We made the decision to join MD IT because I felt their people and strategic plan were far better than I could have imagined on my own," Ms. Hudson said. Ms. Hudson founded NTI in 1994 and under her leadership the company has grown to become one of the largest transcription companies in New England. "I believe this industry is very much in a state of churn. I found MD IT's focus on a designated process for helping physicians move towards electronic medical records to be very exciting and just what our clients are looking for."

"MD IT is honored to have NTI join us," stated Thomas Carson, president and CEO of MD IT. "NTI is one of the most respected service organizations in the country, recognized for its quality, innovation, and customer service. We welcome Ella and her talented team to our organization as we work together to become an industry leader in providing medical documentation services."

MD IT specializes in serving physician offices and ambulatory clinics, a market estimated at $7 billion out of the $10 billion spent annually on medical transcription in the US. Hospitals account for the remaining $3 billion. MD-IT's technology platform lets physician practices move from paper charts to electronic charts, and provides a clear path to implementing more advanced features of electronic medical records.
