Two More Senior Bankers Join Cascadia Capital's Experienced Ranks

National investment bank stresses strong character and deep expertise as it finances the future for mid-market and emerging growth companies.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) November 13, 2007 -- Cascadia Capital, a national investment bank focused on the needs of middle market and emerging growth companies, announced today that two more senior bankers have joined the firm's experienced ranks.

Tom Newell has become a Managing Director at Cascadia focused on sourcing and executing M&A and financing transactions for middle-market companies - especially in the consumer, food and retail sectors.

And Sócrates Jiménez is now a Senior Vice President at the firm, where he will specialize in software M&A, private equity and debt placement and corporate finance transactions.

Blending Human Capital and Financial Capital

"We believe human capital and financial capital go hand-in-hand today as we help companies make their way on the path to prosperity," says Michael Butler, chairman and CEO of Cascadia. "Tom and Sócrates each understand how to create and extend value for enterprises, and they're huge additions for us."

Prior to joining Cascadia, Newell served as CEO of ODS Software, an enterprise software company that was successfully acquired by an international software supplier. Before ODS, Newell was president of The Shorewood Group, a business consultancy focused on meeting the growth and financing needs of private companies. Newell began his career as an investment banker with Piper Jaffray. He was named one of the Puget Sound Business Journal's top 40 business leaders under the age of 40 for 2005, and holds a B.A. from Yale University as well as a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law.

"Successful middle market companies fascinate me," says Newell. "I am constantly impressed by the focus, diligence and perseverance it takes to build, grow and profitably operate a business today. To be involved with such great enterprises, and the people that are behind them, is a privilege."

Optimizing Strategic Alternatives for the IT Sector

Jiménez has over 10 years of bulge bracket and middle-market investment banking experience and was most recently a Director in the Internet and Digital Media Investment Banking Group at Pacific Crest Securities. Prior to joining Pacific Crest Securities, he worked in investment banking at PaineWebber Incorporated, Sutro & Co, and Oppenheimer & Co. Jiménez's corporate experience also includes executive management responsibilities at Aprisma Management Technologies, a network management software company, as well as financial operations roles at Oracle Corporation. Jiménez holds an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a B.A. from Stanford University.

"As technology-enabled enterprises continue to address opportunities in a rapidly consolidating marketplace," says Jiménez, "Cascadia is well positioned to leverage its individual commitment, as well as industry and capital markets expertise, to optimize strategic alternatives for entrepreneurial and middle-market clients."
