NoBS Photo Success Founder Espouses Importance of Database to Photographers

Robert Provencher, founder of NoBS Photo Success, releases statement about the relationship between client database and success in photography industry.

Garson, Ontario (PRWEB) November 15, 2007 -- With a database in hand, photographers can start up a business and begin receiving cash flow in 30 days, according to Robert Provencher, photographer and founder of NoBS Photo Success. The database is the most valuable asset a photography business can have, Provencher added in his recent statement.

Success is not guaranteed by the equipment, studio, marketing skills, or talent the photographer possesses, says Provencher. It is determined by the list of happy and repeat clients a studio has in its possession. This alone, and the relationship that a photographer has with these people, is so important and so valuable, is the life-blood of a successful business. The irony is that many photographers take this for granted, according to Provencher. They don't have a systematic and organized method for gathering this valuable resource.

The value of having such a database becomes prominent, according to Provencher, when a photographer wants to sell their studio. The first thing a potential buyer should look at is not what the brick and mortar is valued at, it's the database of happy customers the business has accumulated over the years. Of course, the equipment and building has a market value to it. But the thing that will continue the profits and sales is the list of current and past satisfied clients.

Provencher says that if a photographer were to buy a studio and the old photographer was a large part of the success of the studio, the potential buyer would need to convince the database of clients that things will be the same or better with the new owner. But, that message can't be communicated without that list of clients. What is perhaps more important than having the database, however, is using it in the monthly operations of the studio.
