Fortune 500 Employee Quits Rat Race to Write and Perform Funny Poems and Songs About It

With the newly designed website of www.OfficePoetry.com , office and work related humor has never been so hilarious!

Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 15, 2007 -- About four years ago while stuck in a frustrating and seemingly purposeless job, Robert Petta decided in order to deal with the angst, rather than erupt in a scathing outburst he would write a funny poem about it. That first poem, based on a common work related experience of being micro-managed, he sarcastically entitled Please Micro-Manage Me and Office Poetry was born. Little did he know at the time that this poem and others to come which began to circulate around the office would be the subject of a book, live multi-media performance, and website entitled Office Poetry and Office Poetry Live! At www.OfficePoetry.com his hilarious poems, songs, music videos, and the maniacal illustrations by Mark Sean Wilson provide riotous entertainment and side-splitting laughs for anyone who has ever been frustrated with their job or the corporate environment in which they work.

"In this extremely fast paced society people have very little time to be entertained or humored. Office Poetry was created to provide people quick humor they can relate to without having to read an entire book or website. I wrote almost all of these poems based on actual people and events at work and then added my own quirky embellishments. People can relate to Office Poetry because it is based on things they experience every day. I started to send the poems around the office to help people blow off some steam and it just took off. I felt that everyone at work really needed a good laugh and the poems worked great. The book transformed into songs and music videos when I decided to do a performance. Office Poetry is truly dedicated to all of the honorable men and women of the workforce around the globe."

Visitors to www.OfficePoetry.com are able to read rollicking poems and view hysterical illustrations on various work related themes such as Parking Space, Elevator Ride, Cube Farm, Desk Stuff and many more. Visitors can also listen to songs and watch music videos that all poke fun at the workplace. The topics range from the seemingly ordinary objects found around the office such as the Storage Cabinet, The Fax Machine, and The Coffeemaker, to personalities like Disgruntled Employee, Loudmouth, Brownnoser and Workaholic, and even delve into specific corporate positions and situations like CEO, Personal Assistant, Demotion, and Lateral Move. As the title poem Office Poetry accurately rhymes in the last stanza; "Take a break from the rat race, break free from the company's chains; Office Poetry will put a smile on your face; Office Poetry is candy for your brains."
