Bill Hebel, partner and media director at Slack Barshinger, will be recognized by min magazine as one of the 21 most intriguing people in the magazine business at its Top 21 & Hottest Launches Awards Luncheon on Nov. 13 in New York City.

Hebel, a 30-year media industry veteran, will be honored along with 20 other media people and agency executives who "have made an indelible mark in the magazine business in the past year and have raised some eyebrows along the way." All 21 will be profiled in min's November issue.

"Bill is truly a force in this industry," said Gary Slack, senior partner at Slack Barshinger. "Being named with HBO and Visa media executives in min's 21 Most Intriguing, not long after being honored in min Advertising Report's 'Sweet Sixteen,' is a true testament to Bill's contribution to today's media business."

Hebel joined Slack Barshinger in 2003 after a distinguished 20-year media career at J. Walter Thompson (now known as JWT), where he was widely known throughout the global agency as "Mr. B2B."

Hebel was among seven honorees who were announced as part of a sneak peek at the Top 21 list, which also includes Wayne Arnold, co-founder, Profero; Susan Smith Ellis, CEO, (Red); Courteney Monroe, senior vice president of marketing, HBO; Jon Raj, vice president of online advertising and emerging markets, Visa; Matt Ross, president of McCann World Group San Francisco and CEO of the Global Microsoft Account; and Diego Scotti, vice president and head of global advertising, American Express. The others honorees will be revealed at the Nov. 13 award luncheon at New York City's Tavern on the Green.
