stompBox tunes Wins Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal Emerging Technology Award and Launches New Music Offering

Emerging company takes home top honors in Internet Technology category and enables social music discovery.

Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) November 19, 2007 -- stompBox tunes, which brings music fans and artists together, today announced that it was selected as the Internet Technology category winner of the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal's Emerging Technology Awards (ETA). It also released its first offering which is available now on Facebook. Aimed at celebrating tomorrow's leaders today, the annual ETA awards honor Silicon Valley's spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship.

MyDoubleHelix's stompBox tunes and the other 12 Emerging Technology Award recipients were profiled in the Nov. 2 edition of the Business Journal. ETA categories included internet technology, biotechnology, green and clean, medical devices, search and security, among others. The awards were created by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and were presented in front of an audience of several hundred innovators and media members.

"It's wonderful to be recognized as an innovator among our peers," said Michelle Bonat, the company's CEO and founder. "StompBox tunes is making a mark by pioneering cutting-edge technologies to connect the web of data in a musical context." Available initially as a Facebook multiplayer game program, this music networking service is a way for fans to discover new music. It is also a way for artists -- both independent and signed -- to get additional visibility.

Initial reception has been extremely positive. "This application rocks! I'm constantly checking back for the next available quiz," said Scott Cushman of Portland, Oregon, one of stompBox tunes' newest members.
