birdJam Now Supports Cornell's Southeastern Arizona/Sonora Mexico Bird Song CDs

birdJam, the popular birding-by-ear identificatioin tool for the Apple iPod, can now support multiple bird song collections. This latest version of birdJam also has been optimized for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

(PRWEB) November 19, 2007 -- birdJam, the popular bird identification tool for the easy-to-use Apple iPod, now supports new bird song collections in addition to the Stokes CDs for Eastern and Western North America. The first new bird song CD collection to be added is the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's "Bird Songs of Southeastern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico" by Geoffrey A. Keller.

Other bird song collections for international locations such as Costa Rica, Ecuador and many other locations/regions, and in-depth family collections for warblers, owls and others, will become available regularly.

"The #1 requested birdJam enhancement has been support for more bird song collections in addition to the excellent Stokes CDs for North America," related Denese Van Dyne, birdJam partner. "We've updated birdJam so that new bird song collections can be easily and economically added to the original North American bird songs. Birding by ear provides tremendous advantages for bird identification, and birdJam has rapidly become the standard for enhancing birding skills through study at home and judicious use in the field."

The Cornell "Bird Songs of Southeastern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico" is a comprehensive collection of outstanding recordings from this popular birding area. The new birdJam Maker for Southwest Birds module creates a separate track for each bird, eliminates species name narration, and adds new iPod playlists for rapid access of any of the 202 birds on this two CD set. The Cornell set includes extended song sequences for specialty birds and songs of rare vagrants to Southeastern Arizona such as the Eared Trogon, Nutting's Flycatcher and many more.

birdJam Maker for Southwest Birds is priced at $19.99 for birdJammers who currently have birdJam Maker (Eastern, Western or both regions). The "Bird Songs of Southeastern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico" published by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology can be purchased from a variety of sources including www.birdjam.com for $29.95.

birdJam Maker 3.0 and BirdJam Maker for Southwest Birds are currently available for Windows. The Mac version will be available shortly.

Both the Mac and Windows versions of birdJam Maker have been optimized for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. The large touch screen of these two models beautifully displays the definitive birdJam photos taken by renowned birdJam photographers including Brian Small and Robert Royse.

birdJam delivers more than 700 species of North American birds on an Apple iPod, eliminating the need to struggle with multiple tapes or CDs. With a birdJam iPod, any North American bird can be found within 15 seconds from the intuitive playlists organized in alphabetic and phylogenetic order, and grouped by habitat, family and other categories.

Since 2005, birdJam has delivered the simplest and most convenient birding-by-ear identification tool to thousands of novice to expert birders. Visit www.birdjam.com to learn more. birdJam is developed and distributed by MightyJams LLC. birdJam is a powerful tool; please use it responsibly in the field.
