Highland Park, IL (PRWEB) November 20, 2007

Scholarships.com has recently announced their 2008 "Resolve to Evolve" essay scholarship, an annual $10,000 award program. Students will have from December 1, 2007 until March 31, 2008 to submit their entries. Applicants will be evaluated on how compelling their essays are, as well as on their presentation and compliance with the official rules of the scholarship. The $10,000 in award money will be divided among the top seven finalists with the first prize winner receiving a $3,000 college scholarship and the first runner up receiving a $2,000 award. The remaining runners-up will each receive a $1,000 college award.

Each year, Scholarships.com posts essay topics that evoke thought and challenge participants to proactively respond to controversial issues. Winners are rewarded not just with college scholarships but also with the chance to impact present societal standards and policies, as Scholarships.com will be forwarding the winning essay to the appropriate official(s).

The topics for 2008 deal with the success of the No Child Left Behind act and the rising cost of higher education. Students may respond to either question, provided their ideas are original. Scholarships.com looks for essays that demonstrate critical thought and highlight the students' ability to analyze and find solutions to potential problems and to express their resolutions eloquently.

Winners will be notified by May 30, 2008 and announced on June 30, 2008. Their essays will be made available to the public on the Scholarships.com website soon thereafter. The awarded college scholarships are meant to be used as tuition reimbursement and are paid directly to the winners.
