Sevi Organics Upgrades Cosmetic Packaging to be Even More Eco-friendly
Sevi Organics upgrades its skin care and body care packaging to be even more environmentally friendly.
Baltimore (PRWEB) November 18, 2007 -- Sevi Organics, the maker of vegan mineral makeup, plant based skin care, hair care and body care products, has upgraded their packaging for their skin care line to be even more environmentally friendly.
All of Sevi Organics' lotions, http://www.sevicosmetics.com/lotions.htm, are now being packaged in 100% recycled glass. Not only is using recycled glass better for the environment than creating new glass, but melting recycled glass requires a lot less energy than it takes to melt the raw materials contained in new glass products. Glass can be recycled an infinite amount of times and does not produce any additional waste.
In addition to the lotions, Sevi Organics is also adding new Dead Sea bath salts to the body care line, which will also come in the 100% recycled glass jars. The face washes will also change over to new packaging and will come in recyclable cobalt blue glass bottles. Hair Care and the new Sugar Scrubs will continue to be offered in the current recyclable PET and HDPE plastic for safety reasons.
Another big change in the products is the new labels. The labels are created by NatureWorks PLA and are made from corn resonate instead of petroleum. The manufacturing process to create these labels requires less fossil resources and releases fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
For the consumers of the Sevi skin care line, disposing of the labels can be just as environmental-friendly. The labels can be recycled and composted in industrialized facility. Once composted, it breaks down after 47 days into carbon dioxide, water and humus.
