In this interview, Ms. Alvarez Mace was asked about her newest creations and the inspirations behind those designs. Ms. Alvarez Mace jokes that Mother Nature herself is her Muse! "Every day that I look out my window, or step outside, I see something that sparks my creativity. One such piece, the Dew Drop Vine Necklace, was inspired by the blues and greens in the tiny drops of water left behind after a recent shower. Another, the Beer Quartz and Multicolor Tourmaline Necklace and Earrings were designed after a recent drive through the desert. There was something extraordinary about the gorgeous browns and golds in the desert, with that pop of bright color from a desert bloom. It felt that those blooms were going to defy any arid odds to be seen and enjoyed! Another favorite is the Garnet Treasures Vine Necklace. That necklace is the expression of my love for California Wine Country, and the amazing wines those vinters offer to the world! Not only are the colors of Wine Country in the fall represented in that piece, but the rich colors of the fabulous Pinots, Cabernets and Merlots as well!
