Chemicals in Mattresses May be Toxic and Carcinogenic
Essentia releases list of possible toxic and cancer causing ingredients found in spring and memory foam mattresses.
Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) November 28, 2007 -- Essentia Group Inc, eco-friendly memory foam mattress and pillow manufacturer, releases their long awaited list of chemicals found in mattresses which can be located here:

Mattress companies laminate or "glue" mattress layers together. Long-term health effects may occur after repeated exposure including cancers, damage to heart, liver, central nervous system and kidneys from Volatile Organic Content (VOC) found in a number of products including Adhesives/Glues.
Essentia's natural memory foam mattresses and pillows don't contain glues for this reason. Individually molding each mattress and pillow is how they've succeeded in removing glues entirely. Mattress layers bleed into one another to create a permanent bond so no glues are needed.
"Devising a way to remove these chemicals from our mattresses was an arduous process." said Jack Dell'Accio, President of Essentia. "We've now removed all health risks by replacing petroleum based memory foam with our Natural Memory Material and by eliminating glues altogether."
Most companies use water based adhesives which use water as a carrier agent. Once the glue is sprayed on the water evaporates leaving only the glue and their fumes behind.
About Essentia: Essentia uses cutting-edge technology to manufacture and market advanced foam, healthy, eco-friendly bedding products, featuring outstanding comfort and quality without compromise.
