Homeowners Focus On Cabinets, Countertops and Flooring When Thinking Of Kitchen Remodeling

While homeowners have a wide range of features that they would like to add to their kitchen; cabinets, countertops and flooring are the areas of most concern.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) November 29, 2007 -- ReliableRemodeler.com, a leading home remodeling resource for homeowners providing a trusted connection between homeowners and local contractors is announcing the findings of their recent homeowner survey. Regardless of whether they were in the midst of a kitchen remodel, or simply thinking about one, cabinets, countertops and flooring were the three features homeowners cited as being the most important.

For homeowners who were currently doing a kitchen remodel 35 percent were replacing their cabinets, 24 percent were changing their flooring, and 21 percent were updating their countertops. Other popular elements were new appliances, a change of paint and replacing sinks.

When asked what they would want to change if they were starting a kitchen remodel, 33 percent of homeowners responded countertops, 21 percent said cabinets, and 16 percent wanted new flooring. The full survey results can be found on: http://www.reliableremodeler.com/about_us/media_center.asp.

"It's no surprise that these areas are most important to homeowners," Eric Doebele, CEO of ReliableRemodeler.com, stated. "Cabinets and countertops are the most used area of the kitchen, so homeowners usually think of replacing these features first. Well designed cabinet and counter space is the most important element of making a kitchen efficient and enjoyable, and can provide the largest return on investment."

When planning to remodel their kitchen, 76 percent of homeowners simply chose to replace or update specific elements of their kitchen, such as their countertops and cabinets. Only 24 percent of homeowners with kitchen remodeling projects stated that they would be creating an entirely new kitchen from scratch.
