Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) November 28, 2007 -- Earlier this month Brodimac launched its Improve Literacy website. The main focus of the website is to enable adults and children to create and customise the characters in a personalised children's storybook.

The site also provides resources and articles on reading comprehension, basic literacy and ways to motivate children to read.

Our premise is that children need to be stimulated if they are to be excited about reading, so owning a tangible storybook where they can actually see their name and an illustrated version of themselves is a great place to start
Sam Brodie and Andy McKenna, who wrote the storybook and designed the website, are both language and literature graduates, and have a passion for writing and literacy, particularly child literacy.

"Today it is more important than ever to give children the opportunity to get into reading and increase their literacy skills, as there is such a huge number of other distractions like video games, television and the Internet", said McKenna. "Our premise is that children need to be stimulated if they are to be excited about reading, so owning a tangible storybook where they can actually see their name and an illustrated version of themselves is a great place to start".

The storybook uses the latest web-to-print technology, and comes in a full colour, illustrated paperback format. It can be delivered worldwide.
