Best Christmas Looks to Be New Perennial Favorite While Spurring Fund-Raising for Charities

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 28, 2007 -- Kathi Carey and David Manship have composed a new Christmas song that not only looks to be a new perennial favorite, but is serving as a tool for charity fund-raising for organizations including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and breast cancer organizations. Kathi is an actress/filmmaker who has been "on the road" for the last year and a half with a film about a woman dealing with breast cancer. She has interacted with many wonderful breast cancer organizations across the U.S. and in Canada. As a video editor, David has worked with a number of charity organizations, most recently the DMD fund which raises money for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a fatal disease that affects children. This holiday season they have taken the opportunity to introduce what they hope will be a timeless Christmas classic through this special fund-raising program.
"This is the Best Christmas," with its instantly familiar and heartfelt message of gratitude for being together at Christmastime, is destined to become an instant nostalgic classic in the tradition of "White Christmas" and "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire". This holiday sampler - a compilation of four artists singing "This is the Best Christmas" in different styles - can be used as a fundraising item and as a topic for charitable organizations to exploit on their local airwaves. A short-term, email campaign and the opportunity for local radio and direct sales possibilities may result in an unexpected holiday bonus for many organizations. Several that have already taken advantage of this offer include breast cancer organizations and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy organizations that Kathi and Dave have already been working with.
In the same manner that she has supported the cause of breast cancer awareness with her film "Reflections of a Life," Kathi has pledged to support those organizations that want to use "This is the Best Christmas" as a fund-raising tool with her personal appearances and radio interviews. Kathi, who is not only the songwriter but whose lush vocals bear an uncanny resemblance to those of the late Karen Carpenter, says "Christmas is a time of giving and receiving -- making this song available in this manner is my way of giving in return for so much that I have received."
