U.S. and U.K. Companies Form Transatlantic Offsite Data Storage Partnership
A transatlantic data storage partnership has been announced by IFSA Data Storage, Inc. of Magnolia, Ark., and Lumison Ltd., U.K. The partnership allows both companies to offer their clients secure, offsite data storage on multiple continents via the Internet.
Magnolia, Arkansas (PRWEB) November 28, 2007 -- IFSA Data Storage, Inc. (IFSA-DSI) of Magnolia, Ark., and Lumison, Ltd. (Lumison), announce a transatlantic partnership which allows clients to store data on multiple continents.
Both IFSA-DSI and Lumison currently offer their clients secure, offsite data storage services. The data storage systems employ client software with high-level encryption to securely transfer backup data over the Internet. The data is then stored on RAID (redundant array of independent disks) technology at the offsite location. The client software is available for machines running Windows, Linux or MAC OS. Incremental backups are used to reduce backup size and transfer time by backing up only the data that has changed since the last full backup. Data compression technology is also used to reduce the data transfer time. Other features include the ability to backup Microsoft Outlook, schedule or manually run backups, and receive email notifications once a backup has been completed. During the data restore process, the client can use the backup software and their private encryption key to retrieve the data from the offsite storage location to any Internet-connected computer in the world.
