Hearts & Homes for Youth Announces Appointment of Tammy O'Rourke as Executive Vice President
O'Rouke is first to hold position within the Maryland agecy for at-risk youth.
Silver Spring, MD (PRWEB) December 3, 2007 -- Hearts & Homes for Youth, the Maryland agency focused on helping at-risk youth today announced the appointment of Tammy Marie O'Rourke as Executive Vice President.
Ms. O' Rourke, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C), has worked with Hearts & Homes for Youth since 1998, beginning as a Social Worker before becoming the Rehabilitation Coordinator, Director of Clinical Services and the Director of Therapeutic Programs. She most recently held the position of Vice President for Program Operations.
The role of Executive Vice President (EVP) is a brand new position for the Silver Spring-based agency. As EVP, Ms. O'Rourke will report directly to President and CEO Rex Smith and will hold authority and responsibility over all operational functions of Hearts & Homes for Youth.
"In all of my years in youth work, there have been few individuals who have possessed Tammy's personal and professional devotion to kids," noted President and CEO Rex Smith. "Coupled with her leadership and administrative capacities, intelligence and integrity, Tammy O'Rourke is uniquely qualified for this position."
Since its founding in 1964, Hearts & Homes for Youth has served over 30,000 boys and girls throughout Maryland who are neglected, abused, abandoned, homeless or otherwise at risk. Their services include the only shelter in Montgomery County specifically for kids, seven group homes, therapeutic foster care, independent living and a unique foster care program for pregnant and parenting teens.
