Northern California Entrepreneur Invents Personalized Identification Tags

Larry Osborne, a veteran long-distance runner, has turned a long-time dilemma into a business. The 60-year entrepreneur has created CoolIDTags after he realized his companion running dog had more ID than he did. Now for the past five years, the 1 1/8" x 3" inch white identification tags have now been a part of Osborne's essential running gear.

Rocklin, Calif. (PRWEB) December 1, 2007 -- Several years ago, Larry Osborne was running with his dog Nutmeg when the peculiar thought struck him.

What if there were an emergency and Osborne wasn't able to communicate? While Osborne's dog had a collar and dog tags, its owner didn't have any identification.

"I realized that when I went out for a run my dog Nutmeg wore more ID than I did," said Osborne, a veteran long-distance runner and cyclist. "At weekend events, I was with lots of people but I still had no quick or easy way to be identified in an emergency."

"When I traveled and went for a run from the hotel I had an even greater problem. I was running alone, no one knew me and I had no adequate emergency contact ID."

Osborne turned his dilemma into a business. The 60-year entrepreneur created CoolIDTags. And for the past five years, the 1 1/8" x 3" inch white identification tags have now been a part of Osborne's essential running gear.

CoolIDTags are ideal for any identification needs --- athletes to world travelers, individuals with special medical information and even pets. The tags are lightweight, versatile and sturdy and can include up to six lines of information.

"Earlier this year I took a serious fall on my mountain bike and separated my shoulder," said Osborne. "This incident brought home the value of carrying emergency contact identification. As an athlete, when I designed this tag I wanted something that was not only functional but fun and reflected my lifestyle."

CoolIDTags are highly customizable. Many colorful designs are available with artwork from well-known Northern California artist Phil Dynan. Individuals, community groups or international corporations can also personalize the tags with a favorite image, a logo or medical information symbol.

With holidays approaching, CoolIDTags also make inexpensive, practical gifts for friends, family members and colleagues.

CoolIDTags are priced $7.95 each for 1 or 2, $6.50 each for 3 to 12 or $5.50 for 13 or more and can be ordered online with a simple, three-step process. CoolTagsID can also be ordered via telephone. Shipping and handling are free.
