T-Shirt Manufacturer Teams With Environmental Group to Raise Awareness

Forget Texas Tea, Local Celebrity is Drilling for Texas Green Tee! The hipsters at Local Celebrity, a T-shirt manufacturing company, drilled deep into the creative lab and struck a money vein with their timely "green" themed T-shirts. The organic tees were released to raise awareness of environmental issues.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 2, 2007 -- In an attempt to raise awareness to young adults of important environmental issues, Local Celebrity released an organic T-shirt that has since become a popular trend. The t-shirt is 100 percent organic with Respect Your Mother on the front. "For us to make a real clear attention-getting statement, we needed the perfect catch phase, and it needed to be fun, cool, and informative," said Don Calder, President of Local Celebrity. "And it just hit me, 'Respect Your Mother.'"

Upon its release, the designers of the T-shirt had no doubt that the shirt would be successful. Calder noted, "We wanted it to be a grand slam so we connected with the heaviest hitting environmental organization we could find, Global Green USA. It took us longer than we thought to get them on board but we finally did."

The T-shirts were made out of 100 percent organic cotton and were launched at an Oscar party. All the guests were given a Respect Your Mother T-shirt, and immediately the shirts were being worn by Hollywood's elite, and popping up all over the press. Retail buyers took notice, orders started flooding in, and RYM immediately became a top seller. Since then, it has been seen on American Idol's Carrie Underwood, various stars of MTV's The Hills, and many more.

"We didn't think we could one up RYM, but we just might have. We recently launched officially licensed Captain Planet T-shirts. They are so fun and fresh! Just a couple days ago we got our biggest retail order in our company's history, and they were for our Captain Planet T-shirts."

These shirts, as well as many others, are available on the company's website, localcelebrity.com. This site is the only place you can get these particular shirts on the web.
