The Pearl Harbor Remembrance Page at VetFriends.com

VetFriends.com -- the largest Web site reuniting and supporting U.S. military veterans -- has created a Pearl Harbor remembrance photo page at www.vetfriends.com/militarypics - dedicated to all who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Pearl Harbor attacks, WWII and moreover throughout history.

Charleston, SC (PRWEB) December 7, 2007 --On December 7, 1941 the Japanese initiated a covert attack against the U.S. Naval base at Pearl Harbor killing over 2400 American soldiers. This ambush, termed in history by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as "a date which will live in infamy," resulted in America's entrance into WWII fighting against all opposed to world peace.

"VetFriends.com encourages Americans to reflect on the bravery and sacrifices of the many men and women who were stationed at Pearl Harbor, along with all who have proudly served in the U.S. Armed Forces," says VetFriends.com founder and U.S. Veteran Dale F. Sutcliffe.

The VetFriends.com Pearl Harbor remembrance page is made up of authentic pictures submitted by U.S. veterans, active military, family and friends covering the time span of 1941 through the end of WWII. Furthermore, visitors can search for images by specific military branch, year, war, state and country. Each picture contains background information along with a brief message or description. Additionally, an "e-mail reply option" is available with each photo, where users can send thank you comments, questions and information requests to the person who submitted the photo.

On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and all year long, VetFriends.com is devoted to honoring, supporting and reuniting veterans and active military of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard -- all heroes of our nation.

VetFriends.com currently has over 825,000 members nationwide, attracting over 150,000 visitors per month to the Web site. With the powerful notion of "reuniting" in mind, VetFriends.com offers services such as: search the database to make contact with old friends, search and set up reunions, search military units, message boards, post photos and share military jokes, obtain information on how to receive medals, military records and more.

Special bonds are developed amongst service members unlike any other connections, due to the unique and often difficult circumstances under which they were formed in the military.

After reuniting with a service buddy through VetFriends.com, U.S. veteran L. Prickett writes, "It was a wonderful moment that we will both remember for the rest of our lives, and we owe it to VetFriends.com. Thanks for making it possible."

Founded in 2000 by Marine Corps veteran of Desert Storm, Dale F. Sutcliffe, thousands of people have been reconnected through VetFriends.com, spanning from World War II through to Operation Desert Storm and the present.
