Skincare While Traveling: Choosing Airplane-Friendly Skin Care Products

Skincare-News.com helps travelers prepare for the holidays by packing skin care products that protect the skin from the negative effects of airplane flights.

Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) December 10, 2007 -- Beyond jet lag, flying can also leave people with skin that is lifeless, listless and dry. What can be done? Skincare-News.com's latest article, "In-Flight Sight" helps travelers prepare a rescue travel kit, stocked with a few essential toiletries to help maintain a beautiful complexion, both in the air and on the ground.

The eyes are one of the first features to show fatigue, especially when traveling. For those who wear contact lenses, it might be a good idea to switch to wearing glasses for the duration of the flight. No matter what, remove all eye makeup every night -- even if it means using the tight quarters of the airplane lavatory. After removing all make-up, follow with a hydrating and nourishing eye cream to reduce the puffiness and dryness often experienced during a long flight.

Another great travel trick to reduce dryness is to slather on a moisturizing mask just before boarding and leave on the skin for the duration of the flight. For example, a cucumber gel mask is completely clear, and will alleviate some of the effects of air-cabin dryness.

Hands and lips also suffer a great deal during air travel. Long check-in lines, public restrooms, wheeling suitcases or backpacks through endless security queues and terminals all take their toll. Keep a hydrating hand cream in a purse or toiletry kit, along with a lip cream, to protect against environmental damage as well as dehydration.

Finally, don't underestimate the power of pure water. After traveling, or when staying in a new city, splashing the face gently with pure, bottled water will help remove surface impurities and chemicals. Also, forgo drinking sodas or other carbonated beverages when flying and instead, ask for bottled water. Keeping the body properly hydrated from the inside out makes people feel less tired and sluggish after a long flight.
