Well Known Cellulite Doctor Says "Jennifer Love Hewitt's Cellulite is Not Real"

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 6, 2007 -- "Celebrity cellulite or functional cellulite", is new term coined by Dr. Lionel Bissoon to describe a type of cellulite which only appears during certain activities. Photographs of Jennifer Love Hewitt and other celebrities with cellulite are appearing in tabloids, magazines, the internet and television. Many of these photographs show what appears to be cellulite. The cellulite in these photos is medically incorrect and does not fit the standard medical definition of cellulite.
Dr. Lionel Bissoon author of "The Cellulite Cure," says Jennifer Love Hewitt's cellulite is not real. Dr. Bissoon describes Jennifer's cellulite as being Functional cellulite or Celebrity cellulite. He coined these teams to describe cellulite which is only visible with certain activities such as walking, bending, twisting and sitting cross legged.
"Once women revert to a straight standing position the cellulite, like an illusion, disappears," states Dr. Bissoon. The photos taken of Jennifer Love Hewitt demonstrate the presence of cellulite in various positions. "There were no photographs of Jennifer standing in a straight erect position with legs together." Paparazzi have long been the bane of celebrities -- and a blessing for the tabloids. Some shutterbugs stalking Hawaii's beaches in search of celebrities, photographed actress Jennifer Love Hewitt in her bikini. Snapshots of the bikini-clad actress are revealing her famous so called "orange peel" thighs and "cottage cheese" legs.
But according to Dr. Lionel Bissoon, a doctor specializing in the treatment of cellulite, some of these "show-all" photos "reveal" cellulite that may not exist. "This is more of an illusion," says Dr. Bissoon. "The photographs published do not show true cellulite, instead she is engaged in various activities. These activities can create the appearance of cellulite when there is none or little."
The medical definition of cellulite requires the presence of lumps, bumps and dimples in the standing position only. According to Dr. Bissoon, magazines often print pictures of celebrities in awkward positions, where their legs are moving, walking, twisting or turning. "One leg appears to have cellulite because the muscles are contracting during movement -- while the other leg does not. That doesn't mean the woman actually has cellulite," says Dr. Bissoon.
As another example, Dr. Bissoon points to tabloid photos of Britney Spears walking in a swimsuit. The forward buttock appears to show no cellulite while the other buttock has dimples. Of course, this doesn't mean that celebrities don't suffer from cellulite, says Dr. Bissoon, author of "The Cellulite Cure" -- only that readers shouldn't necessarily believe what they see in newsprint.
"Ninety percent of American women suffer from cellulite," says Dr. Bissoon. "Mesotherapy is the only medical cure for cellulite including celebrity or functional cellulite. Mesotherapy can dramatically reduce or eliminate the problem. It's a safe bet that many celebrities have received -- or will soon seek -- treatment to get rid of those unsightly cottage cheese thighs, dimples and celebrity cellulite.
