National Capital Area Executive Receives Prestigious Award from the Information Technology Service Management Forum

Holmes and Associates, Inc. announced that Kirk Holmes, its President and CEO, has been named "2007 Member of the Year" by the Information Technology Service Management Forum USA (itSMF USA). The itSMF USA is a leading 8,000 member not-for-profit association of individuals and organizations providing information technology services.

At the recent Information Technology Service Management Forum USA (itSMF USA) Fusion 300 Conference, Kirk Holmes was named the itSMF USA Member of the Year for 2007. The award was presented in Charlotte North Carolina, where the itSMF USA had a chance to recognize key volunteers that keep the organization running, along with technology practitioners and vendors who have contributed to continually building industry knowledge.

In the words of the itSMF member who nominated him, "Kirk exemplifies leadership in IT Service Management. He has been a dedicated, strong President for our National Capital Local Interest Group (LIG) and a visionary volunteer for itSMF USA as a whole." The LIG is the second largest body in the USA. In addition to his local work, Kirk filled a Board of Directors seat made vacant by resignation.

Kirk Holmes is President and founder of Holmes and Associates, Inc., an IT Service Management and strategy consulting firm. He has served on the itSMF USA Board of Directors since January 2007 when he was appointed to complete the term of a Board position overseeing itSMF USA Publications activity and collaboration. In his Board capacity, Holmes also is the USA representative to the itSMF-International Publications Executive Subcommittee, an international collaboration between itSMF country chapters to define and endorse global best practice for IT Service Management. He holds an engineering degree from MIT and an MBA from Stanford University.
